Staunton River, or at
our Rivenridge at Piney
Forks, our private trout lodge in the George Washington
National Forest), depending
on which location has better water levels. You can
expect to learn how to roll cast, pile cast, reach cast, plus
how to avoid tailing loops, and will receive an introduction to
the double haul used often in saltwater or distance situations.
$85 per person.
Book now.
Location: Same as Beginner class. Location in or near Lynchburg 15 minutes from
the shop, or at our Rivenridge at Piney Forks lodge.
Rental gear available for $20. If you purchase rod or reel
from shop within a month of class we refund your $20 rental fee!

at same location as morning

| Angler's
Lane Trout - 101 and 102 Trout 101 seeks to break down the process into simple
steps, taking the mystery out of the sport. We will
cover subjects such basic casting, roll casting, mending line
and side-arm casting. Separate sessions will cover knot tying,
stream entomology
(which flies to use and why), locating fish and
reading a stream. Also discussed will be fundamentals of
selecting a fly rod and which fly rods to use for given situations.
Because this class is conducted on-stream you can immediately apply
your newly-learned skills to the real conditions of moving
water while you fish our private waters.
Student:teacher ratio will
not exceed 3:1. Dates are subject to availability
of guides and stream! Let us know with form below what
dates suit you best and we will respond promptly!
