James
River - Recognized as Virginia's best smallmouth bass river,
the James River runs through the heart of Lynchburg, our home
base. We know the river well and have access to private and
public landings. Enjoy this local treasure with us as you
tangle with the fish many consider the fiercest fighter pound-for-pound
in freshwater! Take advantage of our familiarity with this
local treasure.

Staunton
River - We own land and have private access on the Staunton River along the entire 30-mile stretch below Leesville Dam.
In addition to our usual goal, smallmouth bass, this unpublicized
river holds a wide variety of other species including largemouth,
striped bass, walleye and yellow perch. One never knows what
to expect on the mysterious Staunton.

Jackson River - Enjoy a stay at our new lodge, Stonesthrow On Jackson,
and a guided trip utilizing our land and private access on the Jackson
River, considered Virginia's premier tailwater trout fishery. Enjoy a trip floating and wading for wild
rainbow and brown trout below Lake Moomaw near Hot Springs, Virginia, and the
famed Homestead resort. We also offer wading trips on the Jackson above
the reservoir. You will encounter terrific scenery and usually outstanding
fishing on the Jackson with an Angler's Lane guide. We have been learning this
river for years though the river still holds many secrets, a few of which we
unlock with each trip.

Rivenridge
at Piney Forks, the private lodge operated by Angler's Lane, offers a
beautiful and exciting array of trout fishing. One
moment you can catch abundant, native brook trout in the North Fork, a freestone
stream. From the pond anglers can pull in sizable rainbow and brook trout up to 5 pounds. Later proceed to the South Fork
for brookies 10" to 20" stocked amidst beautiful,
hard-fighting native brook trout up to 12". Fly fishing only, catch and release. You can rent the lodge
overnight (same arrangement as beach house--you rent the entire house,
linens provided, kitchen and grill available). As an option, an Angler's Lane
guide can help you learn the water quickly. Day passes available unguided if lodge not
in use. Call or e-mail store for details.

New
River - Considered the 2nd oldest river in the world, the
New offers prolific smallmouth bass fishing. We have
recently added the New to the Rivers we guide. We know a variety of the
stretches on this River extremely well. John
McCleod, our
fisheries science teacher and guide, shows off a citation
smallmouth in the photo here. With advanced notice we can take you on the
New.

Tye
River - The Tye has come back nicely since Hurricane Camille ripped through this river in 1969. Browns, rainbows and brooks can be taken on a fly by the studious angler. Well trained for catch-and-release fishermen (or women), seldom are the holdovers dumb enough to take a spinner or live bait.
