Founded in 1998 to serve fly fishermen, reel ladies, and outdoor clothing enthusiasts, Anglers Lane can guide you on Virginia's varied and underpublicized waters. We guide clients from beginner to expert. While we take our fishing seriously, we try not to take ourselves too seriously. Jonathan Krause

Competed on Liberty University's college bass fishing team for 4 years fishing across US. Has fly fished since early childhood. Combines experience of fly fishing with knowledge of fish movement & behavior learned at collegiate level competition to provide educational experience to people of all ages. Really knows bass behavior patterns and can share it with clients. Solid person with incredible patience.

Doug Lane

Founded Anglers Lane in 1998 after 20 years in furniture industry. Earliest memories include mornings on the banks of the Staunton River (late 1960's). Enjoys the Jackson, Staunton, and Rivenridge at Piney River Forks, Quebec (Atlantic Salmon), & Missoula MT. Has logged more hours guiding on the Staunton than any living guide on the river. Learned from the late, inimitable Chuck Kraft, first full-time freshwater fishing guide in Virginia and founder of the Kreelex, Clawdad and numerous effective flies. Later studied two-handed Spey casting under Simon Gawesworth. Still learning.

Wayne Stinnette

Member of Fly Fishers International as a certified Master Fly Casting Instructor and Level 1 Examiner. Wayne teaches students correct fly casting and single hand Spey casting instruction makes you a better fly fisher. His early years included football for Ferrum and Virginia Tech, and knows construction well. Wayne enjoys fly fishing for all species in fresh water or salt water.

Keith Bernard

Grew up in Nelson County near excellent trout fishing streams. Love for trout fishing started at early age. Loves sharing passion of fly fishing with clients, friends, and family. Taught daughter at age 5 to trout fish. Says "Every weekend she would accompany me to the mountains for a day of fishing. Thirty years later she is a skilled 'fisherwoman.'

Cody Ott

Started fishing and floating the James River when he was 7 years old with his grandfather. Passion still endures 20+ years later. Studied and learned local fisheries intimately. Particularly enjoys streamer fishing. Loves the James, the Jackson, or the Staunton. Cody can put you on the fish.

Dakota Wright

USCG Licensed Captain with 15 years of experience fishing for striped bass and other species on Smith Mountain Lake. Offers both fly fishing or conventional tackle fishing for stripers Mellow personality. Works diligently for you to catch fish. Guides other rivers with shop for rainbow and brown trout, stripers, smallmouth. In 2019 with Leslie added Logan to world of young fishing enthusiasts.
