||SOME OF THE MOST INNOVATIVE FLY RODS
in recent years can be attributed to Winston. We build on Winston's innovation by offering Winston rods with light and powerful reels in our
combos at a wide range of price points, effectively giving you a free fly line with Winston craftsmanship.
For 2017 Winston introduced the ground-breaking
AIR. Utilizing its proven Boron III Technology, Advanced carbon fiber, and Supersilica resin system, the
AIR is perhaps the lightest rod in its class ever made. If you are a Winston fan or are looking for an elegant yet powerful rod specializing in dry flys which can still cast a nymph and streamer.
Boron III X series represents a huge advancement in fast action rods. This rod series loads easily for delicate presentations, yet can make very long casts. Both fast and light, this series updated the cult-favorite B2x with an even faster and lighter blank, perfect for a wide range of casting situations.
For 2014 Winston introduced a new Light Series, the
Boron III LS, a smooth blend of the classic, light Winston feel with modern boron technology. This rod will bring a smile to your face if you are stalking wild brookies, cutthroat or any species where quality matters over sheer size.
Winston introduced for 2015 the
Nexus, a lightweight, ultra-smooth, fast-action series of rods for under $500. With the Nexus you can experience the classic action of Winston rods, made in Montana, for a very reasonable price.
For two-handed rod enthusiasts, we carry Winston's
Boron III TH-MS a wonderfully light Two-Handed, Microspey rod series. Knowing how to build light, finesse rods very well, Winston offers two-handed enthusiasts of spey and switch rods a way to enjoy the sport while casting for something a bit more relaxing than a monster steelhead or salmon, not that we don't enjoy fishing for behemoths too.
We still offer the classic Winston
LT 5-piece trout rods. At the time of their introduction this series represented a revolutionized multiple ferrule designs. Featuring soft tips and an internal spigot ferrule system, the LT5 casts like a
one-piece rod in a 5-piece system. A superb choice for anyone
fishing dry flies or a mix of long and short casts on a given day.. We fish the LT-5 personally, as this rod is a classic and for those seeking a great 5-piece rod is unmatched in overall quality. The Boron III LS is lighter, but for those who enjoy the interlocking ferrules, want a 5-piece pack rod and are willing to handle slightly more weight while picking up a little more backbone in the rod, the LT-5 is still a winner.
Overall, we believe the true measure of a rod is not the ultimate distance it can cast, but how well it performs at the range of distances it was intended to cast. And most importantly, how well it "fishes." Every rod Winston makes reflects this belief.
