Big wild brown taken on a Scott 6 weight during one of our Best of Va (and Tenn) trips.
Radian The Radian series of fast action rods set a new standard for Scott and all fly rods. Fast yet sensitive, these rods deliver power without taxing the angler. The Radian offers increased recovery speed and high line speed with all the nuances and feel of a presentation rod. Scott says its new ReAct technology is at the core. We use these rods on our own guided trips and can speak with confidence that the Radian is a terrific rod, one of our all time favorites.
Meridian The Meridian series of saltwater rods introduced for 2016 offers Scott's fastest and lightest technology for the most strenuous saltwater conditions. In the Meridian Scott has taken the sensitive technology learned from the Radian and beefed it up with extra backbone for GT, permit, tarpon, albacore and you name it. For stressful conditions in high winds, with big flies, or against huge species, you won't find a better rod.
G New 2018 - Scott's original G Series represents a classic medium action rod, perhaps the longest in production in the fly rod industry's history. Scott has updated this rod series in fall 2017 for its third generation, using modern technology, including an improved interlocking ferrule system. Those who want a true medium action trout rod--and are not afraid to say it--will enjoy a G series fly rod.
A4 The A4 represents a light-weight, crisp action rod for high line speed and excellent loop control. One can hardly detect the sleeve ferrule, as the 4-piece rod almost looks like a 1-piece. The A4 performs superbly, much like the premium rods. Simply put, at $395, Scott's A4 rods offer outstanding value.
In 2015 Scott introduced this quick casting, high line speed series so anglers can get into saltwater fly fishing under $500. A terrific introduction playing into the historical strength of Scott rods. The Tidal rods work well for larger fresh-water species.
